Seneca Lake Wine Trail -Celebrating 25 Years !

The Wine Trails in the Finger Lakes area have become a great source of income for this tourist based economy of Upstate New York.  As folks discover the wineries, they also discover the rich and plentiful landscape and culture. Venture along the lakeside or back roads and the beauty will quickly embrace you. The Seneca Lake Wine Trail is very popular and easy to navigate.  Diversity to comes to mind when I think about the many wineries on this trail, from the very serious vintner to the entertaining.  Along the way, you will come across a few distilleries that have begun to pop up along the lakes.  From red to white, sweet to dry, every day to special occasion, you will find it on the Seneca Wine Trail.

This year, the Seneca Lake Wine Trail is celebrating 25 years of existence.  To start it off, they have published an exceptional brochure/map/guide with great graphics as well as a brief synopsis of all 34 wineries on the trail.  Address information, hours of operation, websites and phone numbers are listed. In the center of this guide you will find a lovely poster commemorating the 25 years of the trail.

To help celebrate this milestone, Seneca Lake Winery Association is sponsoring a contest.  You will have to visit all 34 wineries and write down the corresponding winery to the picture on the contest sheet in the middle of the brochure.  What a great reason to visit all 34 wineries and what a great reason to make several trips to the area.  Come enjoy the wine, the food and the beauty of the area and possibly win a deluxe package containing tickets to numerous events.

In the brochure you will also find attractions to visit, distilleries, cheese trail information, restaurants and of course places to stay.  There are so many wonderful and interesting B&B’s in the area or rent an entire house.  One of my favorites can be found at Cobtree Vacation Rentals.
