Cananadaigua, sometimes called the “Chosen Spot” offers its own special characteristics.    There is a great Main St, offering many shops to choose from. Then you have the lakefront to take advantage of  the beautiful lake.  Many restaurants are available to satisfy most appetites, and if you really want to enjoy something special, you can visit the renowned New York State Wine and Culinary center

Cananadaigua is conveniently located South of the New York thruway.  You can enjoy the small city life, or find a great retreat along the lake.

There are currently a handful of development projects proposed for the lake front area, causing a bit of controversy as to the eventual status of properties along the lake in an area that is nicely secluded and offers the affluent to enjoy the natural gem in seclusion.  There are also some cottage owners that have been able to enjoy the area for decades with minimal change.  That was then and this is now.  This dilemma offers the planning board a big plate to digest.

One of the lake front projects on the table concerns developing the property across from Kershaw Park, a piece of the lakefront that is available to the general public.
