Severe Storm Rips Through Seneca Falls

After a memorable, enjoyable and absolutely pleasant weekend, parts of New York were hit with damaging storms and possibly tornadoes.  Fr some of the pictures captured by one of the local broadcasters for Finger Lakes News .com click on the link  ( storm pictures ).  Severe storm warning were scrolling across TV screens and the weatherman predicted the potential for damaging winds and hail.Penn Yan was only witness to thunder and heavy downpours, but many areas were not as fortunate.  Roads into and around Seneca Falls were closed after trees took down power lines and blocked roads.  Parents tried for what seemed like forever to find the status of their children.  The Red Cross set up an emergency shelter, but fortunately after two hours it was determined the need was not there.  That was great news.  Most damage even though it looked bad did not displace anyone.

The rain was much-needed but not to the extent of todays delivery.  Let’s hope we can go back to some more wonderful weather like we experienced over the weekend and say thanks that there were no injuries reported from the storm.

One Of The Best Memorial Day Weekends In The Finger Lakes

As far back as I can remember, I can not remember a Memorial Day Weekend that was just so weather perfect.  The skies were blue, the lakes had warmed up, the temperature was warm and summer like and in some places if you were lucky, there was a nice mild breeze.

I was fortunate enough to get around to three of the Finger Lakes on this Memorial Day weekend; Keuka Lake, Canandaigua Lake and Seneca Lake.  I spent Sunday working and spending time with friends on Seneca.  We toured around the lake to visit friends and clients.  On the boat it was neither too warm or too cold – it really was just perfect.

So now I would like to ask you why you are not yet on the lake ?  Call me , we can work on that little issue.  You still have plenty of time to enjoy the summer on one of the Finger Lakes. Don’t you hear the lakes calling you ?

Remember if you are looking for a great place to purchase on Canandaigua Lake to make your own, call myself or Ray Leone.  If Keuka Lake is more your flavor, contact Seth Olney or myself.  On Seneca Lake, reach out to Dave Reeve, Seth Olney or myself.  Just be sure to call one of us.

As always, if you have some great pictures of the lakes, I would love to showcase them on my blog and of course I will give you credit for your work.

The peacefulness of the lake gave me time to reflect on all of those service men and women that have lost their lives defending our freedom.

Here Today – Gone Tomorrow On Keuka Lake!

MLS#: R184027 2535 State Route 54A Penn Yan, NY 14527  $75,000 Keuka Lake

This two bedroom, 1 bath home conveniently located just outside of the Village of Penn Yan has been taken.  As soon as it was put on the market, we had numerous offers.  It is one of the last homes outside of the Village of Penn Yan that has municipal electric, a huge savings.

Last year this home was on the market with no movement.  So I would say this is a sign the market is picking up, because there was an extreme amount of interest once it was placed on the market last week.

Another benefit of this property, is that it comes with 8 ft of shared lake access on Keuka Lake and imagine how nice that would be to have on a day like today.  You can grab a cocktail and your little floaty and walk into the lake.  What a great way to cool down.

If this property interests you, stay tuned there may be a similar listing coming up.  Call me and I can let you know of its availability.

Keuka Lake Property Now Listed Separately

When I had this listing, it was listed for $475,000 for both properties.  It is now listed with another realtor with each house listed for $250,000 each.  These properties are very private and remote, shaded with the woods and of course have wonderful Keuka Lake lakefront included with each.  So you now have the ability to purchase a single property or both.

If you would be interested in viewing either one of these great vacation homes, give me a call. Start your summer out right, start it on Keuka Lake !
